C-Class Estate

Hills, what hills? Loaded with plenty of torque and power, Mercedes has developed the ideal estate for the long weekend. With plenty of luggage space at the rear and comfortable seats for its occupants, the latest Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate combines practicality, luxury and performance to effortlessly cruise along open roads, and conquer any hill climb with ease.

With flowing automobile lines, the C-Class artist has created a handsome masterpiece, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate rates as one of the nicest looking wagons on our roads. Proportionally, the long compact bonnet blends nicely with the elegant, swooping roofline which finishes on a tapering slide over the rear hatch entrance plunging over a nicely tucked bumper. Bold taillights and twin exhausts finish the classy Merc’s statement of style. The optional AMG Sports Package and the new optional AMG Sports Package PLUS with a distinctive front apron, side sill panels and rear apron significantly enhance the dynamic charisma of the all new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate. With the C-Class Estate it’s all about impressive style.

All Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate variants are well equipped.

One thing about the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate models is all the fine details are as finely finished as the more obvious craftwork. Everything is well made, and one delights in the clarity and simplicity of all the fine instruments and switchgear.

Yes, all Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate variants are well equipped. All models come with a THERMATIC automatic climate control system. The optional THERMOTRONIC luxury automatic climate control system (standard on the C 63 AMG Estate) also allows you to control individual temperature and air supply settings for the rear compartment.

A nice ambience inside the C-Class Estate can be enhanced by selecting the optional panoramic sliding sunroof. Adding this to the wish list certainly provides awesome visibility and light access to all seats.

Mercedes has upped the techno kit with the addition of the Audio 20 system. Linked with an integrated six-CD changer, the system is operated using the multifunction steering wheel as well as on the central console. Speed-dependent volume control is a very cool feature to show off to the kids, and everyone is going to enjoy the Audio 20’s listening pleasure while driving.

Bluetooth, satellite navigation and the excellent new COMAND APS multimedia system is worth a mention, and, of course, there are all the other electronic gizmos like power windows, mirrors and electronic seats.

Seating comfort is awesome in all of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate models. A very fine blend of support and softness helps keep a long journey pleasant and enjoyable.

Then there is the way the C-Class Estate can put the power down on the road. Hot performance is a given in the C 63 AMG Estate. With an electronically controlled top speed of 250 km/h and a 0-100 km/h sprint of 4.6 seconds, there are few wagons that can boast these sorts of credentials. At the other end of the scale, the Mercedes-Benz C200 BlueEFFICIENCY Estate is no slouch, either. The C200 in-line four-cylinder engine has 135 kW to play with and a peak torque of 270 Nm from as low as 1800 rpm, so it’s no wonder that this model can also play chase.

There are two diesel variants for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate, both of which provide awesome fuel economy and excellent punchy performance. The hardest thing will be to choose between all the variants, but I guess you’ll sort that out quickly enough. My pick would be the magnificent refinement and efficiency of the swift Mercedes-Benz C250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Estate. A combined fuel economy figure of 5.3 litres/100 km and a get-up-and-go dash in the 0-100 km/h race of 7.4 seconds – this one has everything I would need.

On the road, each of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate models cope well with heavy loads, thanks to the taut suspension and potent brakes.

For the best premium estate – especially when we’re looking at the mid-size wagon – you can’t ignore a Merc.

The current Mercedes Benz C-Class Estate models include the:

  • C 200 BlueEFFICIENCY
  • C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY
