Lexus GS350

Fresh and new off the floor, is Lexus's GS 350. The same beautiful lines are there. A bolder face looks nice on the new model.

One of the smoothest and nicest designs on four wheels belongs to the brand new Lexus GS – Series. Modern technology enables exquisite shaping of the Lexus body panels, and the entirely new Lexus GS 350 is seductive and bold in its styling.

Belonging to the epitome of high-class cars, you’ll enjoy being with the dynamically styled Lexus GS 350 long into the future. Turning heads never got easier than taking a quiet drive around the streets in one of these cars. Inside the impeccably built Lexus interior, the silence is deafening. Unruffled and quiet, the cabin overflows with the finest luxury and provides comfort in large proportions.

Everything about the new GS is likeable. You have a pleasant new layout of the long, sculpted dash. Both the front passenger and the driver enjoy a feeling of roominess through the new dash design. A smart centre stack and large high-resolution centre control display placed deep near the front windshield provides more space and unclutteredness. Lexus was always good at providing high technology to the simple. That’s why most of the controls, such as audio and climate-air, have been located to provide an ergonomic, clean look to what is a sophisticated dash. You’ll love the touch panel which drives the climate control, audio, phone controls, navigation system and heaps more. Smooth and intuitive, many of the Lexus cabin features can be run via the easy-to-use Remote Touch system.

Technology abounds in the Lexus GS350… I mean where do I start? A new energy-saving auto climate control system called S-Flow uses the occupant-detection system to focus airflow only to the front area where passengers are actually seated. It works a treat, and those hot Australian summers can be left outside when you climb aboard the new GS 350.

A trip in the Lexus GS350 is entertaining enough for the driver; however, the occupants don’t miss out. The New Generation Lexus GS features a massive 12.3-inch, split-screen, high-resolution multi-media display. The split-screen is the first to arrive on the automotive scene, and the big display really is superb in its clarity and tone. You can be watching a large map display, plus audio, climate or other vehicle information at the same time. Onboard the Lexus GS 350, your occupants can be treated to DVD-capable audio and video compatibility, MP3 sound enhancement, 5.1 Surround Sound, along with enhanced Bluetooth capability with automatic phonebook download and streaming audio. These are special items to make any trip pleasant and fun for all the family.

Crystal clear audio sound is not only aided by the very well muted Lexus GS 350 interior, but an 835 Watt, 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio system really pumps the sound waves. The system provides 7.1 Surround Sound through 10 channels using a new class D Digital amplifier and efficient luxury market first Green Edge speakers that are lighter, more energy-efficient and have less distortion.

So what’s it like to drive? Accurate, sporty steering backed up by a taut and compliant chassis ensure that the driver is entertained at any speed. The Lexus offers great control and precise handling. The transmission is smooth and very quick in its changes, while the Lexus GS350 is powered by an advanced 3.5-litre all-alloy quad-cam, multi-valve V6, featuring dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). Boasting a very healthy 233kW, the Lexus GS 350 can sprint from 0-100km/h in around the 5.7 second mark. Overtaking ability is impressive, and the six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission has paddle shifters and sport driving functions as standard to make the drive all the more exciting. Top speed is around 230 km/h, if that matters to you.

You won’t find many safer cars, elsewhere. Drive a Lexus GS 350, and you are in good hands. In addition to enhanced braking systems and an impact-absorbing body structure, the new Lexus GS 350 offers significant advances in both passive and active safety systems as standard. A class-leading ten airbags include a knee airbag for both front driver and passenger. Rear seat occupants have seat-mounted side airbags, and all four occupants near the doors are equipped with side curtain airbags. The seatbelts are pre-tensioned, and force limiters are used for front and outer rear seat occupants. Lexus has provided the GS 350 with the well-chinwagged pre-collision system. This system uses the dynamic radar cruise control system to provide early warning of upcoming objects that might result in a collision.
