2013 Audi Q7 V12 TTDI

The Audi Q7 V12 TTDI has torque levels that are seldom found outside tractors... but it looks much better than a tractor!

Yep, a V12 and real “punch your lights out” sort of stuff with this one. Swinging with a power rating of 368 kW, the “knock-out” blow is sensationally telling. All FPV and HSV swaggers can be clipped off in a clinical 5.5 second sprint from 0-100 km/h. And you can then head off-road where they can’t follow. Now this sounds like my sort of fun!

The interior of an Audi Q7 V12 TTDI is a sexy piece of artwork that offers all the electronic gadgetry known in the automotive world. Of course this is what one would expect from the premium German brand. This is “business class” travel and definitely nothing less. Look at the massive luxury item list, and it is self explanatory when one looks at the “options” section. You won’t find many items here.

A luxury SUV’s handling must be responsive but also smooth. Adjustable suspension modes deliver the superior ride quality and instant response demanded for all on and off road situations. The massive body is kept superbly in control with the magnificent chassis and massive tyres. The brakes are incredibly powerful, and it is just as well when you consider the 1000 Nm of torque potential. Not many vehicles on the road can quite tow a caravan like an Audi Q7 V12 TTDI!

The Electronic Stability Programme in the Audi Q7 V12 TTDI reacts in 0.02 seconds to bring hazardous situations under control. By monitoring wheel speeds, slip angles and the position of the steering wheel, ESP can apply brakes and reduce power to individual wheels until full traction and control is restored. The Traction Control is impressive, and there are ten airbags onboard – no less. The six-speed automatic transmission is effortless at dictating the power to the Four Wheel Drive system. With a 25-year history of permanent four-wheel-drive innovation, it’s no surprise that Audi’s first SUV leaves its competition standing still.

The Audi Q7 is an enormous seven seater, so there is definitely no shortage of legroom or luggage space for the family holiday. The Audi Q7 V12 TTDI is a definite alternative to the BMW X5, Range Rover Sport, Porsche Cayenne alternatives. In fact, I would have to put all luxury sedans into this list as well. Why bother with two wheel drive!

The current model series includes the:

  • Audi Q7 V12 TTDI Quattro 6.0DTT
