On the site here we wrote an article about the cars that have done the most kilometers in the world. We werent sure of the Australian record, so please let us know in the comments below if you know of a record breaker or near record breaker odometers.

Why not check with the taxi companies. I’m sure many of them have traversed many more kms than privately owned vehicles. I’ve driven more than 1 million km’s (conservative estimate) in many vehicles over the past 49 years.

I owned a VB commodore 4.2 V8. My dad bought it brand new and I bought it of him. when we got rid of it it had done 1.2 millon kms.The family owned it for over 20 years and did well over 60,000kms a year..I also have 2 kenworths that have each done over 2.4 million kms and still going strong.

My wife’s cousin has a Valiant in which they visited us a few years ago, at that stage he had 2,500,000 kms on it.
In 1985 there was a UD diesel 8 tonne truck near where I worked, with around 4,000,000 kms on the clock.
