Holden’s first all-wheel crossover vehicle, the Holden Adventra is here. Now you can have the looks and style of a city car combined with the go-anywhere capacities of a backroads all-wheel drive. The Holden Adventra comes in SX6, CX6, LX6 and LX8 models. The SX6 has a 190 kW 3.6 litre V6 with a five-speed automatic transmission sitting smartly on 17″ alloys. The electronic stability programme and the advanced braking systems (TC, ABS, EBA, BA and EBD) are there to keep the Holden Adventra snugly on the road and able to stop sharply – just what you need if you go around a bend and find a cattlebeast sunning itself on the gravel road. To further keep the Holden Adventra SX6 in control while off-roading, the very useful hill descent control works superbly. Cruise control is there for the open road to help rein the horses in.

The Holden Adventra CX6 has the same oomphy V6 engine as the SX6, and much the same features, but notable differences include the beautiful sumptuous leather interior and a lovely premium 6-disc in-dash CD sound system.

The Holden Adventra LX6 boasts the same V6 engine as the other two, but luxury abounds throughout this vehicle. Not only has the Holden Adventra LX6 got voluptuous leather upholstery, but it also has electric front seats that are adjustable eight ways. The sunroof helps you catch some of the ambient noise of the great outdoors.

What sets the Holden Adventra LX8 apart from the rest is the super-powerful grunt that comes from Holden’s 250 kW generation III 5.7 V8. This power is harnessed through a four-speed automatic transmission. And LX, of course, stands for “luxury”. While off-roading in this well-balanced vehicle, you will enjoy the dual zone climate control that makes sure that you keep your preferred level of cool – even if it’s different to your front passenger’s – no matter how scorching it is outside the comfy cabin. Any large Holden boasts class-leading spaciousness and comfort, and the Holden Adventra LX8 (and any of the other models) is no exception to this excellent rule. Leather seats – fully adjustable and cruise control are some of the other items on offer inside the Holden Adventra LX8.

The Holden Adventra’s cunning traction control detects when a wheel loses traction, allowing you to remain in perfect control and firmly where you want to be. Although the Holden Adventra sits higher than the Holden Commodore wagon, it handles as well as the Commodore wagon.

All Holden Adventra models come with front and side airbags, pretensioners and load limiters on the seatbelts to minimise injury to passengers if you do hit that cattlebeast in the road (or have any other type of collison). Three-point seat belts are standard in all rear seats. If you have a super-big family (i.e. more than three kids) then there is a third row of seats available as an option.
