Peugeot 308 Touring

Few family cars look as good as the Peugeot 308 Touring does.

Model Update

Wagons don’t need to be dull. At least that’s the way Peugeot sees it. Offering the Access and Active versions of the Peugeot 308 Touring, Peugeot have widened the appeal for owning a small-to-mid sized family station wagon. The Peugeot 308 Touring has to rate as one of the best looking wagons on the market.

Now available with a 115 kW, 1.6 Turbo-engine that sips petrol, you have plenty of fun pumped into the package, too. That’s not to say that the 2.0 HDi is any slouch. Available with manual and automatic options, you’ll have your preferences covered with a 308 Touring. The most frugal in the bunch is the 1.6 HDi with a combined fuel cycle of just 4.3 litres/100 km.

Safety is off the top shelf. The French are leading this are, of late. And there are plenty of luxury items to make your trip in a Peugeot 308 Touring practical, fun and entertaining.

Families are a ball of fun. Forget the occasional challenge, they are a great investment and they offer a great deal of satisfaction. Now we need a set of wheels that will protect those who we’re close to, so our set of wheels needs to offer space, comfort and safety at all times. Have you ever considered looking at what’s on offer in the Euro-wagon bracket? Amongst some very polished performers is nestled the capable and stylish Peugeot 308 Touring wagon. Perhaps that’s why you have found yourself here.

The sporty, chunky styling turns plenty of heads! Sharp angular headlights, an intimidating grille and distinctive rear haunches make the car a pleasing visual symphony. It’s not too big, not too small…it’s perfect for the small family.

Hop inside and the style is overflowing. And speaking of a visual symphony, how about the sounds? The family will be more than impressed by the 308’s awesome stereo. Perhaps your kids listen to the Wiggles CDs or maybe you like a bit of Jimmy Barnes. Either way, the in-car entertainment system has an excellent clarity of sound. With four speakers and MP3 compatibility, all the latest songs can be downloaded and played on your weekend away – not to mention the many hours spent driving in traffic to and from work. The entertainment system in the Peugeot 308 Touring Active models boasts the inclusion of the latest Bluetooth and RT4 multimedia satellite navigation technology. The dual-zone climate control air-conditioning with pollen filter, standard on all Peugeot 308 Touring Active versions, enables a cabin temperature and cleanness of air for the whole family in freezing cold or sweltering hot conditions.

There is oodles of practicality built into the Peugeot 308 Touring that makes the car such a great way to get around. Front door storage bins, rear door storage bins, a storage tray in the centre console, a driver’s storage area adjacent to the steering wheel, a storage drawer under each front seat, a console between the front seats incorporating stylish drinks holders, a massive storage compartment in the boot, front seat map pockets, two rear ‘aeroplane’ tray tables, a net to secure luggage in the boot, a removable security cover above the boot, a front centre armrest with a storage bin, and front map reading lights express just how functional and practical the 308 Touring models are.

The peppy engines in the Peugeot 308 Touring are more than up to the task of powering the family about town – maybe to your daughter’s gymnastics practice. And on the open road, the punch that they pack makes for very efficient and responsive transport. There is a 1.6 litre turbo engine, fuelled by gasoline. And two diesel variants: a 1.6 HDI and 2.0 HDI – both of which boast the most up-to-date turbo-diesel technology.

On the road, the Peugeot 308 Touring has plenty of grip, and a comfortable suspension. French are masters at providing a premium chassis that remains taut while soaking up the bumps. Ventilated front discs, rear discs, ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Emergency Brake Assist haul the wagon in from speed, no problems even when heavily laden, and the Peugeot 308 Touring is loaded with safety features. Air bags all round, ESP, side impact absorbent door padding, pre-tensioning and force limiting front seatbelts, height adjustable front seatbelts, two force limiting rear seatbelts and electric rear door child safety locks are a few of the security items in the 308 Touring’s armour.

There are some great roads to travel about Australia on. Perhaps you have a small family, and, perhaps, you get away frequently on business trips. Then the Peugeot 308 will be a loyal, stylish and comfortable companion. Prices for the slick mid-sized Touring wagon are very reasonable, and the staff here at Private fleet can nail down a good bargain for you.
