2020 Peugeot Partner Van

New Peugeot Partner Van

Commercial vans are a common occurrence on our roads, especially during business hours.  You’ll see plenty of courier vans running errands, sparkies loaded up with electrical gear even florists going about town.  Toyota Hiace vans used to be the go-to van for the job.  They still are very good, but there are many more options for the buyer on the lookout for a roomy, comfortable and safe van.  European models, in particular the Peugeot Partner Van, are exceptionally nice to drive.  And, when most of your day might end up being behind the wheel running between job sites, then a van like the Peugeot Partner is going to be a welcome companion.

The new 2020 Peugeot Partner Van slots into the mid-range for van size.  It might not be the biggest van on offer but it still offers a handy space, big comfort, big safety and big performance.  The Peugeot Partner sits in the middle of the company’s comprehensive commercial van range, being a bit smaller than the larger-sized Peugeot Expert.

Space: The Peugeot Partner offers 3.3 (L1) or 3.9 (L2) m3 of cargo space behind the front seats.  The floor space is nice and flat, very accessible and easy to load onto.  Thanks to huge sliding side doors and big fully opening rear doors, the Partner can swallow packages with ease.  You can have a luggage holding frame mounted behind the seats in order to stack packages right to the roof.

Comfort: The 2020 Peugeot Partner Van is one of the most comfortable in its class.  The seats are so supportive and deliver superior comfort for long hours.  They are adjustable for height as well as reach.  You’ll easy find that getting comfortable in the driver’s seat is a breeze.

All the must haves are standard, so things like a radio, touchscreen, USB port connections, 2-zone climate control, cruise control, an outside temperature sensor and navigation are standard items.  There are loads of options available should you want to spend a bit more and totally kit out the Partner Van with all the goodies.  So, things like App Connect (I’d definitely get this one because I love my own music), heated seats, parking sensors and blind spot monitoring are some of the items available as options.

When considering comfort, you also have to think of ride quality.  The Peugeot Partner rides city streets with confidence, permitting a supple ride for its (maximum of three across the front seats) occupants over bumps.

Safety: When it comes to safety, Peugeot have you covered.  The new Peugeot Partner Van offers a comprehensive list of safety features.  So, things like front and curtain airbags, belt pre-tensioners, ESC, Hill Start Assist, ABS, Traction Control, EBD, forward collision warning, and EBA are all present.  You also have peace of mind with Peugeot’s engine immobiliser technology.

Performance: Definitely one of the best in this small–mid van class for smooth, energetic performance along with excellent fuel economy.  In the 2020 Peugeot Partner range there are diesel and petrol engines offered.

The base model 110 THP is equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that puts out 81 kW and delivers a decent 205 Nm of torque.  Next comes the 130 THP with a 1.2-litre, three cylinder engine that puts out 96 kW and delivers 230 Nm of torque.  Both petrol motors are frugal on gas and deliver a decent fuel economy of less than 7 litres/100 km.  The 110 uses a slick 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 130 uses a really nice 8-speed auto which makes life pretty easy.

For those who like to run with a torquey diesel, then there is also the 92 HDI which boasts a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel, four-cylinder engine with 68 kW and 230 Nm of torque.  You also get a really good fuel economy of around 5 litres/100 km.  This model uses a 5-speed manual gearbox, which suits it well.  In top gear this Partner cruises effortlessly at motorway speeds.

Current prices for the 2020 Peugeot Partner range from around $26k to $32k for the Partner 110 THP Standard (L1) and Partner 130 THP Standard (L1), respectively.  The 1.6-litre Diesel (L2) can be had for around the $30k mark.  All new Peugeot Partner Vans come with a really decent 5 year/200,000 km warranty.
