Peugeot 308 GT

Peugeot 308 GT

Slip into a brand new Peugeot 308 GT and you’re in for something special.  This is a car that eats up the miles in style.  It may take a little bit of time to get used to the new dash design where the rev counter and speedo sit above the steering wheel, but it works very well and is close to the driver’s natural line of sight on the road ahead.  A very smart and stylish interior does make the drive in the new 308 GT special, while the safety and performance is excellent.

Peugeot loves making their cars gloriously beautiful; their sleekness often running rings around the competition.  When you glance around the new 308 GT exterior, it is an artwork that impresses.  From the ground up, the 308 GT looks nimble, and sporty, remaining flawlessly proportioned and ready for action.  You’ll notice the wide 18-inch rims that are flamboyant in their two-tone diamond design.  The exterior mirrors are finished in black regardless of the chosen exterior colour, but do make sure you check out the 308 GT Magnetic Blue which is only found in this model only.  There is lots of detailing in the crisp 308 GT design, with the diffuser finished in black, two exhaust outlets either side at the rear, GT logos seated for show and oversized air intakes to make a performance statement.

Inside, you’ll find the new 308 GT very comfortable.  The seats are upholstered in Alcantara leather and beautifully stitched in red.  The red stitching is also displayed on the door panels, gear knob and mats.  A black fabric ceiling material is smart, while the GT logo is also found at the bottom of the small steering wheel.  Aluminium pedals are standard and, to welcome you on-board, the GT logo is reflected in the instrumentation for a few seconds – pretty cool!

All the bells and whistles, as to be expected, in a quality GT car are found as standard items in the Peugeot 308 GT.  Great surround sound is enjoyed by all occupants through a very good premium audio system that can be connected to portable devices for playing your favourite tracks.  Handsfree communications and satellite navigation are enjoyable features, and the standard advanced cruise control system with speed limitation is easy and relaxing to use.  Power windows all round, and a top notch ventilation system come as part of the great array of Peugeot 308 GT features.  From a practical perspective, the 308 GT boasts 435 litres of luggage space with the rear seats up, and 1274 litres with both sections of rear seat backing folded flat.

Yes, you can individualise your new Peugeot 308GT even more, with the option of upgrades available that include Club Nappa leather trim, a spectacular panoramic glass roof, and a Denon hifi souind system with four woofers, four tweeters and one eight-way digital amplifier.  You could also upgrade the already extensive safety package with adding the ‘Drive Assistance Pack’ that adds emergency braking, active cruise control and collision warning alert.

Out on the open road, the Peugeot 308 GT feels fast.  Shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 rubber on 18-inch rims, the new 308 GT has loads of grip for the driving enthusiast.  Steering feedback is excellent, and this is a car that you’ll enjoy taking on extended runs.  There are two engines.  One is petrol and the other diesel.

Peugeot’s diesel engine for the 308 GT boasts BlueHDI technology and is linked to a sweet shifting six-speed automatic gearbox.  Expect a 0-100 km/h sprint time of around 8.5 seconds.  Not that it matters that much, but the top speed is around 220 km/h.  The car has well above average fuel consumption.

Your Peugeot 308 GT petrol alternative runs with the six-speed manual gearbox, and it is fun and light to use.  The 0-100 km/h sprint can be completed in the mid seven seconds, while the top speed is around 235 km/h.  Excellent fuel consumption is also a hallmark of the petrol 308 GT.

Modern Peugeot cars are some of the safest cars in their class, and the 308 GT is no exception.  You are loaded with the very best safety equipment – active and passive.  An engine immobiliser is standard, while nice looking day time LED lights look cool and keep you safe.

Opt for a new Peugeot 308 GT, and your drive will be rewarding.
