New for 2019 is the updated Isuzu MU-X SUV.  Nice crisp styling keeps it looking good heading into 2020, and the technology and safety equipment has all been lifted to new levels.  This is a very comfortable 7-seater SUV which comes with 4X2 and 4X4 options.  Good to drive and comfortable, this will be a nice SUV to own.

Offering power via a new 3.0-litre Isuzu turbo diesel engine, there is effortless performance thanks to 430 Nm of torque and plenty of punch.  Towing, touring or city cruising, the Isuzu MU-X can deliver with its comfortable ride to match the hefty performance.  Isuzu have been in the game of making premium diesel engines for years, and the new MU-X diesel engine uses highly-advanced Isuzu common-rail diesel technology that packs on the power but also ensures that you get superior fuel efficiency overall.

You have the option of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission to get the power down on the road – just depending on the way you like to get yourself down the road.  Choose the intuitive 6-speed automatic and let the MU-X do all the smooth shifting for you.  If you do wish to take control of the auto then you just select Rev-tronic mode for sequential manual shifting of the gearbox.  Grade Logic technology makes sure you are in the correct gear when ascending and descending tough terrain, so really Isuzu has made a nice job of this one.

2019 Isuzu MU-X SUV Space

Space is great inside the big charging SUV.  Anything from 230-right through to-1830 litres of luggage space is available depending on the rear seat configurations that you have set up at the time.  Leg, head and shoulder room is all ample for the big, burly Australian that finds themselves sitting in any one of the front and mid row seats.

Off-roading is easy, as the new Isuzu MU-X 4X4 models come with a 4X4 Terrain Command system.  4H can be selected at speeds up to 100 km/h or you can stop and select 4L for the tough and serious off-road environment.  Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control make life pretty cushy when traversing steep country, too.  Isuzu have equipped the 2019 MU-X with some hefty under body protection to keep components well protected when the terrain does gets hairy.  The suspension is nicely set up to even out the toughest terrain and make life inside the cabin pretty relaxed.

Head back out onto the tar seal and the ride and comfort of the seven-seater MU-X is superb.  Relaxed, lusty performance is matched by a nice ride and tidy handling characteristics.  Steering gives good feedback and it’s easy to eat up the miles in this big cruiser.  The seats offer great support and comfort over the longer journeys.

Pulling up to the lights in the new MU-X with all the bells and whistles just feels good.  The smart, sporty styling is clean and eye-catching, the big alloys, flared guards and DRLs add to the visual impact.  Of course you can also add any of the abundant accessories to your own variant.  The MU-X leads the way with great looks and contemporary style.  Standard on all models are striking LED daytime running lights, and Bi-LED projector headlights with auto-levelling functionality.  Special fog lights spread light wider in difficult weather conditions (Standard on LS-U and LS-T models).  The vehicle’s tough exterior looks are enhanced with side steps that make getting in and out of an SUV much easier (Standard on LS-U and LS-T).  Stylish two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels on the LS-U and LS-T are a great looking design for that premium visual overload.  So the LS‑U and LS‑T feature 18-inch alloys, while 16-inch alloys are on the LS‑M.

2019 Isuzu MU-X Luxury

Nice touches in the latest Isuzu MU-X interior make the difference.  A-pillar assist handles makes vehicle access easier and doubles as a brace to hold onto off-roading gets rough.  Multiple cup holders and storage points, including dual glove boxes and a centre console bin make daily living with the MU-X enjoyable.  You can control any of the side windows with touch of a button from the comfort of the driver’s seat.  Finger jam protection is standard.  Manual air-conditioning comes standard om the base model, while an electronic climate control system comes standard on LS-U and LS-T versions.

The interior can come equipped with either of the two upholstery options: dark grey cloth or leather.  Both give a premium feel to the cabin – if not being a little on the grey side.  Beautiful, sharp exterior colours make for a vivid display.

The electroluminescent multi-information display (MID) is a stylish driver’s display screen that looks really nice and provides a clear view of important information like the fuel economy, range, maintenance and distances.  The tactile and comfortable leather bound steering wheel puts audio and cruise controls at your fingertips.  Satellite navigation, Bluetooth audio streaming, iPod and USB connectivity, CD, MP3 and AM/FM radio are all handy modern items.

Even the base models get a seriously good sound system.  Premium models, however, boast an impressive eight-speaker audio with a touchscreen satellite navigation and live traffic updates.  The LS-T also gets a fold down 10-inch monitor to entertain back seat passengers.  All models come with the ability to connect with Sky Sound, iPhone and USBs.  Bluetooth connectivity to the phone is easy and quick, not to mention a safety feature in itself.  A reversing camera is standard and makes life really easy when backing up to hitch on the trailer or caravan.
