To drive, the new Toyota Hiace van provides a nice ride and plenty of power. Carrying cargo or passengers becomes a breeze with Toyota’s blend of key features.

LWB and SWB models are available. It just depends on what you need the vehicle for. Large cargo or passenger carrying capacity and legendary reliability means that you have what’s needed to get the job done.

The Hiace commuter bus can seat 14 passengers, and with the special materials and trim, the van can be made to feel very special. A sound system is a must when carrying people, so Toyota have equipped the Hiace with an MP3 compatible CD player with AM/FM radio, USB audio input for iPod and USB. You’re up-to-date with the latest Bluetooth functions. Even the cargo van comes equipped with a nice two-speaker sound system.

Every new Toyota HiAce model features air-conditioning, front power windows, remote central locking, modern trims and fabrics, a gated gear shift (auto), ABS with Brake Assist, and airbags in the front.

In this form, you can have the grunt of the 2.7L VVT-i petrol with a 5spd manual. Or, the 2.7L VVT-i petrol with a 4spd auto. Or, the 3.0L turbo diesel with intercooler and a 5spd manual. There is also the 3.0L turbo diesel with intercooler and a 4spd auto.

This commuter bus boasts 14 seats – including the driver, an extra wide body, a high roof, a second row – two seater bench seat, third & fourth row two seater bench & one bucket seat, fifth row – four seater split-fold bench seat. This particular Toyota Hiace model has a longer front bumper, rear cooler with overhead vents and a premium four speaker CD sound system. All Hiaces have features that are standard. These features include dual SRS airbags, an MP3 compatible single disc CD player, air conditioning with a clean air filter, central locking, rear door strap, semi-bonneted van, digital clock, power front windows, power mirrors, rack & pinion power steering, double wishbone type front suspension, personal air vents, an electronic twin trip meter, an engine immobiliser, a fold-down centre seat/armrest/table, force limiting and pre-tensioning outer front seatbelts, high mount stop lamp, the Toyota Safe-T-Cell, front door anti-intrusion beams, a collapsible steering column and a three year / 100,000km warranty. Phew.. that’s quite a list for a workhorse van!

To drive, the Hiace is very smooth. The bumps are soaked up well by the supple suspension, and grip for cornering is good. You will not be shortchanged when it comes to safety. The Toyota Hiace van has front driver and front passenger SRS airbags, door and tailgate warning lights, cargo tie-down hooks, an ABS anti-skid braking system with brake assist, a driver’s seat pre-tensioner with force-limiter, and two fire extinguishers for the Toyota Hiace commuter model.
