Suzuki Kizashi

Exciting changes to Suzuki’s line-up have arrived in Australia. A vibrant performer offering dynamic performance and plenty of power tops Suzuki’s models. The most desirable Suzuki is no longer the Grand Vitara, but the all new Suzuki Kizashi.

Even the exterior has the right mix of sporty lines and elegance to make the Suzuki Kizashi a very appealing sports car. But looks alone don’t make a great car. The muscly bonnet lines, sporty front fog lamps, dynamic looking 18-inch alloy wheels, high waistline and huge twin exhausts is enough to make any XR8 or HSV owner jealous. The Suzuki Kizashi sports styling actually reminds me of Suzuki’s ability in superb looking road bikes. I wonder if the same design team was involved in the awesome Kizashi package? Well done Suzuki. You have yourself a winner here.

It is so exciting to see Suzuki getting itself involved in the performance car arena. Definitely, the Suzuki Kizashi sedan offers a power-packed engine, all-wheel-drive and, now a larger, more useful cabin space.

Just how serious was Suzuki being in their performance course for the Kizashi? A track-tuned suspension, high-end Akebono-sourced brakes and optional 18-inch alloy wheels shod with performance rubber provides a rather big hint. Open up the bonnet, and you find that the heart of the Suzuki Kizashi pumps with a 2.4 litre, DOHC, 131 kW engine-plant. There is a very useful 230 Nm of torque available, and depending on how heavy your right foot becomes will determine just how many other cars you will leave behind in your wake.

Economy is obviously in the mind of the Suzuki Kizashi design team. One of the more useful ways of cutting fuel usage in the AWD Suzuki Kizashi is by switching AWD off to allow power to go to the just the front wheels alone. The performance orientated Suzuki Kizashi has a combined fuel economy figure of only 7.9 litres/100 km.

Inside, the Suzuki Kizashi offers cloth or leather seats, a 425-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system, iPod connectivity and Bluetooth capability. Eight airbags, ABS and stability control are standard premium safety items. And, at almost 4.7 metres long, the Suzuki Kizashi has plenty of space to pack luxury items and relaxed passengers.

The base model Suzuki Kizashi XL comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, eight airbags, a push-button start, dual-zone climate control, a nine-speaker audio system, EPS stability control, ABS, projector beam headlights, power windows, doors and mirrors, and ambient footwell lighting. This is pretty awesome for a base model – and when you consider the price, it is value for money to the extreme.

Moving to the Suzuki Kizashi XLS can get you some extra goodies like: alloy wheels, a power driver’s seat with 10-way adjustment and three-position memory, a leather wrapped parking break handle, a leather bound steering wheel and cruise control.

The Suzuki Kizashi not only has a 7.4 second 0-100 km/h sprint time, but it is equipped with a six-speed manual or performance tuned CVT transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters, AWD, premium sound, ten speakers, Bluetooth, hands-free calling with voice command, P235/45R18 tires, fog lights and a power moon roof.

Why spend anymore? Why look elsewhere? Head on down for a Suzuki Kizashi test drive and you might just by two of them! Two Kizashis may just buy you a useful Euro performer. But the chances are it won’t keep up!

Funny, I’ve just found out that the dynamic exhaust design was inspired by Suzuki’s legendary motorcycle designs! You’ve got take a look at this one. The low price, hot looks, and superior handling and performance move Suzuki right up there with the best mid-size performers on the market. This is the best performance deal on the market.

The current model series includes the:

  • Kizashi XL
  • Kizashi XLS
