{"id":59,"date":"2008-12-04T22:47:42","date_gmt":"2008-12-04T12:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.privatefleet.com.au\/?p=59"},"modified":"2020-06-20T02:08:29","modified_gmt":"2020-06-19T16:08:29","slug":"yikes-new-car-sales-down-222","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/car-sales\/yikes-new-car-sales-down-222\/","title":{"rendered":"Yikes \u2013 New Car Sales down 22.2%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Official figures out today show that just 71,647 cars, trucks &amp; light buses were delivered last month.\u00a0 That&#8217;s down 20,434 vehicles on the same month last year.<\/p>\n<p> As mentioned in a previous post these deliveries probably reflect consumer sentiment in <em>October<\/em>, allowing an average of around a month between sale commitment and delivery.<\/p>\n<p> The big question is how consumer confidence in November itself will affect December sales.<\/p>\n<p> But again, reiterating the silver lining &#8211; these sales scare the hell out of the car companies who have long term production quotas they can&#8217;t just turn off overnight.\u00a0 Cars will continue to arrive at the docks which will do nothing to alleviate the oversupply issue.\u00a0 This means aggressive discounting- something we are seeing every day.\u00a0 Combine this with the usual end-of-year deals and target chasing &amp;<strong> there are some fantastic deals to be had.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> Quoting from Andrew McKellar, FCAI chief executive, &#8220;On the up-side, there are going to be some very competitive opportunities for anyone considering buying a car in the near future&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p> So good news for car buyers, bad news for car makers and sellers.\u00a0 However the good news for\u00a0everyone is\u00a0that we&#8217;ve just put together a Christmas E-Card! <a href=\"http:\/\/credit-n.ru\/zaymi-online-blog-single.html\" style=\"visibility: hidden;\">http:\/\/credit-n.ru\/zaymi-online-blog-single.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Official figures out today show that just 71,647 cars, trucks &amp; light buses were delivered last month.\u00a0 That&#8217;s down 20,434 vehicles on the same month last year.
