We related the problems that Audi had in France when launching their new electric car the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.privatefleet.com.au\/home\/wordsmiths-in-the-poo-again\/\">\u2018e-tron\u2019.<\/a> Well, purely coincidentally, a French court has had to rule on another manufacturer\u2019s name for their new electric car. This time it\u2019s Renault, who have called their electric prototype the \u2018Zoe\u201d, a sort of play on words for <strong>Z<\/strong>ero <strong>E<\/strong>missions ( or, for classical scholars, a Greek word meaning \u2018life\u2019).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.privatefleet.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Zoe-Renault.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-571\" title=\"Zoe Renault\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.privatefleet.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Zoe-Renault.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sounds innocuous doesn\u2019t it? Well, not to a Parisian family who have the surname Renault and who have two children within the family named \u2018Zoe\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>They took the car company to court in an attempt to prevent them naming their car \u2018Zoe\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>They lost the case, but not without their defense council making an impassioned plea on their behalf in court that must have had all court officials rocking with laughter. He pleaded that his clients, and all other Zoe\u2019s around the world, would be subjected to ridicule as they grew older by being the target of such quips as\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u2018 Can I see your airbags?\u2019 or\u00a0 \u2018Can I shine your bumper?\u2019 etc.etc.<\/p>\n<p>The judge disagreed, so Renault can name their car \u00a0\u2018Zoe\u2019 and all the Zoe\u2019s of this world can brace themselves for a future onslaught. <a href=\"http:\/\/credit-n.ru\/credit-card-single-tinkoff-platinum.html\" style=\"visibility: hidden;\">http:\/\/credit-n.ru\/credit-card-single-tinkoff-platinum.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just a few weeks ago we wrote about the trouble that manufacturers can get into when naming their new cars.
