{"id":54,"date":"2008-11-10T03:28:48","date_gmt":"2008-11-10T03:28:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.privatefleet.com.au\/?p=54"},"modified":"2020-06-20T02:08:41","modified_gmt":"2020-06-19T16:08:41","slug":"good-news-for-australian-car-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/home\/good-news-for-australian-car-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Good News for Australian Car Industry!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At last some good news to report for the Australian car industry!<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Rudd announced today a $6 billion package to safeguard the car industry in Australia.\u00a0 Whilst significant assistance was expected following the Bracks review, the size of this &#8216;bailout&#8217; has come as quite a surprise to many industry experts.<\/p>\n<p>The package, intended to stem further job losses in manufacturing as well as steer the industry towards a more eco-friendly and sustainable future has won support from unions, car makers and consumers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the key points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$3.4 billion assistance program from 2011 to 2020;<\/li>\n<li>$79.6 million to the Automotive Competitiveness and Investment Scheme to smooth the transition to a greener automotive industry;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>$116.3 million to improve competitiveness in the automotive component manufacturing sector;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>$20 million from 2009-10 to help suppliers improve their supply chains;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>$6.3 million from 2009-10 for an enhanced market access program;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A new Automotive Industry Innovation Council comprising key industry decision makers to drive innovation and reform; and,\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>An immediate $10.5 million expansion of the LPG vehicle scheme that doubles payments to purchasers of new vehicles using LPG technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Importantly Rudd has confirmed that the planned reduction in the automotive tarrifs from 10% to 5% will go ahead in 2010 which is fantastic news for Australian car buyers. <a href=\"http:\/\/credit-n.ru\/oformit-kredit-online.html\" style=\"visibility: hidden;\">http:\/\/credit-n.ru\/oformit-kredit-online.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At last some good news to report for the Australian car industry!
