{"id":15666,"date":"2024-10-07T08:45:22","date_gmt":"2024-10-06T22:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/?p=15666"},"modified":"2024-10-07T08:45:22","modified_gmt":"2024-10-06T22:45:22","slug":"what-do-you-get-if-you-cross-a-saab-900-turbo-cabriolet-with-a-nissan-figaro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/makes-models\/what-do-you-get-if-you-cross-a-saab-900-turbo-cabriolet-with-a-nissan-figaro\/","title":{"rendered":"What Do You Get If You Cross A Saab 900 Turbo Cabriolet With A Nissan Figaro?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It\u2019s possible to get a hinny in the equine world, but how did the auto world possibly come up with the Morgan Midsummer?\u00a0 For those with little equine knowledge (and to be honest, I didn\u2019t know that a hinny existed), let\u2019s first of all clear up what a hinny actually is.\u00a0 A male horse (stallion) and a female donkey (a jenny) can get together and produce a domestic equine hybrid called a hinny \u2013 a cross between a male horse and a female donkey.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"132\" src=\"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Morgan-Misdummer-300x132.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15669\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Morgan Midsummer<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>I was more familiar with the flipside of this, where a male donkey (a jack) and a female horse (a mare) got together and produced a mule.\u00a0 I\u2019m not quite sure why I linked a Morgan with the equine world, apart from the obvious connotations of horsepower, but I think it comes down to the Morgan being a really cool modern car that has a beauty that it has all of its own but then has a hint of cars from yesteryear, ones that were also a bit exclusive and cool, even back then.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/SAAB-900-turbo-300x113.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15667\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Saab 900 Turbo Convertible<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Saab 900 Turbo Cabriolet is a bit of a stallion.\u00a0 I mean, look at all that exquisite eighties leather used to make its interior and some of the most comfortable seats I\u2019ve ever enjoyed.\u00a0 Then there\u2019s its striking angular styling, cool three-spoke aero mags, black soft-top roof, and the powerful 2.0-litre turbo engine that made this a quick and exciting car.\u00a0 Little wonder, then, that the Saab 900 Turbo Cabriolet, with his angular black physique and soft salt and pepper stone chips, attracted the attention of a lonely but very pretty pale aqua Nissan Figaro. \u00a0Result\u2026 well the modern-day Morgan Midsummer, of course!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Nissan-Figaro-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15668\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Nissan Figaro<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Saab isn\u2019t really dead yet, because the cult following of the 900 and other great Saabs of yesteryear are still being restored and cherished by many a car enthusiast.&nbsp; The Nissan Figaro also has a dedicated following too, with her cute and loveable cabriolet style born back in the early nineties.&nbsp; Morgan, on the other hand, are still in business \u2013 very much in the business of making new cars.
