{"id":1516,"date":"2012-02-13T07:27:21","date_gmt":"2012-02-12T21:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.privatefleet.com.au\/?p=1516"},"modified":"2020-06-20T01:50:05","modified_gmt":"2020-06-19T15:50:05","slug":"best-cars-for-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.privatefleet.com.au\/blog\/home\/best-cars-for-economy\/","title":{"rendered":"Best cars for economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I bet you\u2019re interested in this.\u00a0 Take a look at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nextgreencar.com\">www.nextgreencar.com<\/a> website.\u00a0 They have a list of the top twenty most fuel efficient cars, in Britain, for each class of car.\u00a0 If you are a family person with plenty of kids or just have plenty of friends, then it\u2019s likely you\u2019ll be looking at a car that doesn\u2019t feature on the City Car, Supermini or Small Family car list.\u00a0 The cars in these brackets are just way too small to be practical family cars.\u00a0But, I will let you in on a secret:\u00a0Hondas, BMWs, Toyotas and the like do make some pretty frugal mid-sized vehicles that run on either electricity, hybrid power, petrol or diesel.\u00a0 So don\u2019t despair when you see how tiny some of the most frugal cars can be.<\/p>\n<p>Not so surprisingly, you\u2019ll see that it\u2019s the Smart cars that lead the way.\u00a0 With an incredible combined fuel economy figure of 86 mpg, these cars just don\u2019t know how to drink the fuel heavily.\u00a0 These are the cars for the city street.\u00a0 If it\u2019s only going to be you in the car, most the time, then one of the City Cars like the Smart car should do the trick.\u00a0 It is nice to see the Fiat 500 models dominating the City Car top ten spots with a Citroen C1 (I wish these were in Australia) and a Hyundai i10 featured, as well.
