Nissan X-Trail Petrol

Nissan X-Trail Petrol SUV

A whole 1520 litres of boot space, a sleek design and off-road potential keeps the classy new Nissan X-Trail at the top of its game.  The Nissan X-Trail Petrol models provide good performance and smooth refinement.  2WD and 4WD models are available, and it’s an SUV that stands out from the crowd offering proven reliability.

Enter the cabin of the latest Nissan X-Trail Petrol SUV range, and the cabin is spacious, light and comfortable.  Seating is nicely laid out with excellent comfort and plenty of room for those with longer than average legs.  Five-seat and seven-seat alternatives are available.  If you happen to be the driver, you’ll enjoy a nicely adjustable seat with the steering column also adjustable for height and reach.  Set yourself up with the right driving position and the new X-Trail ensures that all the switchgear is easily accessible and simple to understand and manipulate.  The dash has sweeping lines that are pleasant to look at, while at the central position is a clear touch screen with all the multi functions we come to expect from a modern family wagon.  The Nissan Navara X-Trail is very likable and easy to live with.

If you’re concerned that you need to drive a vehicle with strong safety features, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the latest X-Trail is packed with excellent safety items.  This is an SUV with substance, and there are passive and active safety features aplenty.  You can even opt for a safety feature that gives a full 360° view about the vehicle – ideal for reversing and manoeuvring in tight spaces.  Safety is really important to Nissan, and with Nissan joining heads with the safety conscious Renault brand the X-Trail is really solid.  Innovative Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Moving Object Detection sets the tone nicely, while the Around View Monitor on the ST-L and Ti grades ensures the vehicle actively keeps monitoring your safety.  The new Nissan X-TRAIL models also boast plenty of other safety features as standard across the range.  Six airbags, a rear view camera, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Advanced Drive Assist Display are all standard.

Glancing over the lines of the new Nissan X-Trail SUV , and you are greeted with nice curves and smooth lines.  The vehicle has really good proportions, and I like the way Nissan have the front nose curving in an almost ‘Kea beak’ fashion.  Eye-catching looks, and modern detailing, make the X-Trail one of the nicest looking medium-to-large SUVs on the market.  You’ll be happy with this one’s attractive, modern appearance.

Out on the road, the ride is good, coping well with road undulations and remaining surefooted on any surface.  Excellent grip is a notable characteristic of, particularly, the 4WD models.  The Nissan X-Trail Petrol SUV has very refined gasoline-fed engines that are some of the smoothest power plants around in their class.  AWD petrol models are linked with the larger 2.5-litre petrol engine that boasts 126 kW and 226 Nm of torque.  Hooked up to the CVT gearbox, and the smooth acceleration is quiet and relaxing.  These power figures might not look like anything huge on paper but in everyday practice they are very effective.  If you just need 2WD, then the X-Trail Petrol models offer both the 2.5-litre and the smaller 2.0-litre engine.  The 2.0-litre offers 106 kW and 200 Nm.  On the motorway, the petrol models are nice cruisers.  A six-speed manual links the 2.0-litre engine with the FWD, 2WD drive train, while the smooth tested CVT is what’s offered on 2.5-litre 2WD and 4WD models.

Interior features include a grunty six-speaker sound system, power windows, a 5-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, steering wheel audio controls, cruise control and air-conditioning in base models.  The more upmarket variants gain features like satellite navigation, a 7-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, front heated seats, leather trim, electric front seats, a gesture opening boot lid, a power sunroof and much more…

If you’re sold on buying a brand new X-Trail, then the Nissan SUV comes with a three-year/100,000 kilometre warranty – with a capped-price servicing plan and roadside assist.  As a seven-seat mid-sized SUV, the 2016 Nissan X-Trail is hard to beat – with its spacious cabin, comfortable front seating and good use of storage.  Be onto something good and drive the brand new Nissan X-Trail SUV.
