A 3.0 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel is super refined and very torquey. With 127 kW and 410 Nm to play with, towing the boat and family all around the country is a very easy task for the Prado.  The high torque output is a potent weapon off-road.  Slip into the Toyota Prado that boasts the 4.0 litre quad cam WT-I V-6 petrol engine, and the grunt on demand is astounding. 179 kW and 376 Nm of torque is available.  The silky smooth gasoline engine can hustle along very nicely, and the 0-100 km/h dash can be completed in well under ten seconds.  A six-speed manual gearbox is available for the diesel Prado.  All others are equipped with the 5-speed automatic with overdrive (except for a 5-speed manual gearbox which can be found in the GX V6 Prado).  Prado engines and gearboxes provide just the right amount of torque for every situation, and their very smooth operation adds to your driving comfort.
