Ssangyong Stavic

Need a multi-purpose vehicle that has the capacity to haul seven people, plus their luggage, with ample space and comfort?  Then the SsangYong Stavic is a luxurious and very affordable option.

The Stavic is a large size MPV that guides the engine power through to the rear axle.  The van design is very well put together and thought out.  Essentially, the Ssangyong Stavic is built on the luxurious SsangYong Chairman platform, but with special reinforcements incorporated into the monocoque chassis frame to make it suitable for use as an MPV.  The SsangYong Stavic features a 4-wheel independent suspension. At the front, you find a double wishbone set-up, while the rear suspension is a multi-link arrangement.  The sturdy design means that very heavy loads can be carried onboard the big van in a commanding fashion. Many people will drive a Stavic purely for its passenger carrying capacity.  There are many options available for how the seating can be arranged.  You can manipulate the cabin space to make the Stavic capable of carrying 7, 9 or 11 passengers.  If you opt for the seven seat option, without a doubt, you will be able to carry huge amounts of passenger luggage as well.  The second row of seats can swivel round to face rearwards, transforming the inside of the SsangYong Stavic into a moving lounge.  Any unused seats can also be folded down to become tables.

The Stavic is exceptionally well appointed; the seats are wholly bound in leather and plush carpets line the floor areas.  Very high quality plastics are used for the interior trim, and the excellent workmanship is superb when it comes to the fit and finish of the cabin.  Artificial wood grain panels add a touch of class to the trim.  There are heaps of storage places for bits and pieces, and there are enough drink holders for all passengers needing to quench their thirst.  An electrically controlled sunroof tilts, as well as slides.  Some of the features the Stavic has are: a fully ducted climate control air conditioning system, auto headlight activation and shut-off, electric wing mirrors  and an auto dimming rear view mirror, a 6 speaker CD audio system and a deluxe centre console.  There is a choice of leather seats boasting electronic controls. You may actually prefer the very nice deluxe cloth seats that are beautiful to touch and look to be very hard wearing.

To make the van move swiftly, the SsangYong Stavic has a powerful 2.7 Litre Xdi turbo-diesel engine. The engine is very robust and smooth. It delivers 121 kW of power and a maximum torque of 340 Nm.  The engine provides strong performance and yet remains pleasingly economical.  Linked to the engine is a 5-speed Mercedes Benz automatic transmission with T-Tronic (a manual shift feature).  Pulling away at the lights is quick and responsive, and tackling hills is a breeze with the well-spaced gear ratios.  On the road, the Stavic remains in control and stable - even at high speeds.

The SsangYong Stavic comes with lots of safety features, like Electronic Stability Control, dual air bags, Electronic Brake Distribution, a rear parking sensor, ventilated disc brakes and even a full size spare tyre – something not so common in a number of Asian vehicles.
