Who said the Japanese can't produce cars with genuine class and flair? Today's Nissan cars have come a long way from the Datsuns that are now associated with hoons and blue smoke.
The new Nissan Maxima is beautiful in its design and boasts graceful lines from every angle, ready to capture the onlooker's attention. The Nissan Maxima truly exudes one of the freshest and most pleasant looks in modern car design. The purposeful nose and the sweeping lines complement the power and effortless performance that the driver enjoys.
The Nissan Maxima has an engine that, for thirteen years running, has been voted one of the world's best engines by Wards Autoworld. The all aluminium 3.5 litre Quadcam 24 valve 170 kW V6 engine in the Nissan Maxima is a gem, and is now capable of revving up to a juicy 7,500-rpm redline. This power enables the Nissan Maxima to match that of the class-leading Lexus IS 350's 3.5L DOHC V-6. The maximum torque of 333 Nm is reached at just 2800 rpm. The power is obtained through a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) with a manual mode, and it is a quiet and responsive unit.
The 2007 Nissan Maxima is a medium to large sized four-door sports sedan with front-wheel drive. And like before, the Nissan Maxima is offered in two distinct versions: the sporty 3.5 SE and the more luxuriously equipped 3.5 SL. The SE version of the Nissan Maxima is the less expensive version but comes standard with cloth upholstery and brushed aluminium interior accents as well as all the conveniences you'd expect in a top-end medium to large sedan - such items include 12 volt power outlets, cupholders front and back, and keyless entry. The Nissan Maxima SE also comes with a sports suspension, traction control, and 18-inch wheels and tyres. The SL version of the Nissan Maxima has all the luxurious additional extras: leather upholstery, woodgrain interior trim, heated seats, xenon HID headlamps and a premium eight-speaker Bose stereo. The proud owner of the Nissan Maxima SL's quality will enjoy the added space and comfort in the rear seating. There are no shortcuts here. The Nissan Maxima easily seats 3 adults in the back, rather than the average 2.5 that leaves everyone squashed.
The makers of the Nissan Maxima have not neglected the safety features, either. The Nissan Maxima SE comes fully equipped with ABS braking to keep you out of trouble, and should you get into trouble (not your fault, of course!), the SE version of the Nissan Maxima has active head restraints in the front, driver and front passenger airbags to the front and side. All five seatbelts are three-pointers, and the front seatbelts have pretensioners and load limiters. And if you choose the Nissan Maxima as a family vehicle, the child safety locks on the rear doors will provide some added peace of mind.
Driving the Nissan Maxima with verve puts a smile on the face. It will grow wider the longer you drive it. The Nissan maxima boasts plenty of grip and plenty of power; plenty of creature comforts and plenty of design flair, so you are on to a winner. This is why the Nissan Maxima is one of the best to come out of the Japanese car manufacturers.
