The small front-wheel drive Colt offers class-leading cabin space and excellent legroom. Rear seating is a 40/60 split, which can be individually reclined or folded. The backrests of the front passenger seat can also be folded forward to accommodate longer items. By doing this, the Colt becomes a small vehicle that is ready to do a variety of jobs.
You can have a choice of four different engines. The base engine used in the ES and VR-X variants is a clean burning 77 kW engine that offers a very decent level of performance. Fuel economy is good, with an average fuel economy figure of under 6 litres/ 100 km.
A Cabriolet version houses an 80 kW engine ensuring some open air fun will be had. On the topic of open air touring, step into the cool-looking Mitsubishi Colt Cabriolet Turbo and be prepared for a sunny summer. The folding roof tucks nicely away, quickly, and has no effect on luggage space. You will enjoy the combination of the proven Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control systems used by Mitsubishi. There's lots of fun to be had here for two people. There are seats in the rear for two adults; however, room is a little tight for lengthy journeys.

It is this technology, learned in the rigours of competition, that has been implanted into the high performance versions of Mitsubishi cars. The little Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart flys the flag admirably, and the efficient 1.5 litre Turbo engine is a beauty. It is somewhat stunning to think that for under $30, 000, you can have a genuine 0-100 km/h dash completed in 8 seconds! Money well spent, in my book. I'll mention here that the Recaro seats in the Ralliart are worth paying a little extra for too. They are snug and fit the body like a glove.
The 5-speed manual transmission is a slick shifter and is very well matched to the torque curve in each engine variant. However, you might like things relaxed to the max and therefore opt for the impressive CVT.
As can be expected with all Mitsubishi vehicles, the Colt will come generously equipped. There are driver and front passenger airbags, ABS antilock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and an am/fm radio with CD. If you like 5-doors, don't worry; you can opt for that too. With the Mitsubishi Colt, you have a choice of options to customize your vehicle just the way you want it to look. From twin spoke alloy wheels, to a rear bumper foil, to entry guards, and a variety of interior colours and trims choices, your preference will be satisfied.
