A revamped 60's classic, the Mini Cooper has been brought up to date and has once again taken the world by storm. With a range of responsive engines, the Mini marque just keeps on getting better. An 88 kW 1.6 litre petrol engine sits at the heart of the Cooper, Chilli, Clubman and Chilli Clubman versions. A total of 160 Nm is at the ready to offer fun acceleration. Another 16 valve 4-cylinder inline petrol engine is the 125 kW supercharged unit inside the S Cabrio, S Cabrio Chilli and S Cabrio Sidewalk. This punch packs a lot of entertainment. Here 0-100 km/h is well under ten seconds, and this is all done with the top down. Think sun, fresh air and acceleration! Inside the S, S Chilli, S Clubman and S Chilli Clubman is housed the hot little turbocharged 128 kW motor that is very capable of trouncing the 0-100 km/h sprint in well under 8 seconds - for all the versions mentioned. This motor uses every ounce of its superb 240 Nm engine power through six gears, whether an auto or manual gearbox tickles your fancy. Superbly quick and heaps of fun, you can really embarrass owners of larger more expensive sports cars - whether at the lights or in tight twisting turms. Here is true "see you later" material. The hottest motor is, however, the supercharged 1.6 litre engine that is tweaked a little more to produce a scintillatingly fast 154 kW. The power to weight ratio and acceleration figures show that the laws of physics can really deliver a rapid package! The 0-100 km/h dash is over before you start, with a time of 6.8 seconds.
Engines in the Mini Cooper are transversely mounted to provide more comfortable cabin room and a choice of either a manual or automatic transmission.
