Mercedes Benz ML500

This is not your ordinary SUV. The Mercedes-Benz ML500 may look like an SUV, but once you take it for a ride, you'll wonder if you're sitting in a high-performance sports car. As the ML500 has a 5.5 litre V-8 engine and the ability to go from 0-100kph in around seven seconds, you will begin to see why.   Meshed to this power-house is a 7-speed electronically controlled automatic, with a steering wheel mounted Direct Select shifter with a one-touch shift button that is driver adaptable.

The ML500 has a permanent full-time 4-wheel drive with 4MATIC and a 50/50 front/rear torque split and a single-speed transfer case. There is a one-touch off-road driving button that allows the driver to engage programming recalibrations of the traction system, antilock brakes, engine and transmission to enhance control during off-highway use.

Luxury is A-1 in the Mercedes-Benz ML500. A dual-zone automatic climate control with electrostatic dust and pollen filter is standard. A multifunction steering wheel provides fingertip control for basic functions such as the audio system, optional phone and the multifunction display. The steering wheel is also 4-way with a manually adjustable tilt and telescoping steering column. There are 8-way power adjustable front seats with optional leather and heating. The rear seats have a 60/40 split and allow for fold-down positioning, which provides a flat area for greater transport of larger items. There is a Modular COMAND cockpit management and data system that integrates not only the audio system with a multitude of options, but will link in an optional navigation system, Sirius Satellite radio and hands-free communication features. There is even an auxiliary input jack for the connection of an iPod® or MP3 player.

The ML500 is packed with safety features.  An integrated restraint system, dual-stage adaptive front airbags, side curtain airbags and an integrated rollover sensor and the ability to adjust the inflation of the airbags for front seat passengers depending on the weight of each occupant provides unmatched safety. Combine this with the Anti-lock Brakes, Traction control and Mercedes-Benz's Automatic Stability Programme and you have one SUV that takes full care of you!
