Sleekly styled, the Mazda 6 has an exterior design that is even better than the original - and that takes some beating! Even more sportier and sexier, the new Mazda 6 travels the roads with a presence and balance that sees off many of its mainstream rivals. The angled headlights, low front air dam, low slung roof line and curvaceous waistline make the Mazda 6 one of the most beautiful automotive designs around. Any prospective buyer will most certainly find a classy and practical Mazda 6 version that will meet their needs. Mazda has cleverly created a four door sedan, five door hatchback and an estate version.
Slip inside any of the Mazda 6 cars, and it becomes very obvious that Mazda's aim for perfection doesn't only run skin deep. Seating in any of the Mazda 6 versions is roomy, supportive and very voluptuous. All the models come with air-conditioning - which becomes dual zone in the Classic, Luxury and Luxury Sport models. Front seats are rake, slide and height adjustable - which become 4-way (passenger) and 8-way (driver) adjustable with memory function in the more luxurious models. The entire Mazda 6 range has six airbags, ABS, EBD, TCS, DSC, front active head restraints, three point seat belts (which are pre-tensioned, have load-limiters and are height adjustable), an intrusion minimising brake pedal and a Triple H safety cell which is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the cabin in the event of a severe collision. Security is also built into the Mazda 6 with a standard remote central door locking, deadlocking and immobilizer system, known as the Category 1 alarm. This system ensures that your vehicle remains your vehicle. The Limited models come with a 4-speaker MP3 compatible CD/radio audio system which becomes a six-speaker system in the Classic. The high-end Luxury and Luxury Sport models will tantalize the music lover's ear with a crystal clear eight speaker Bose audio system. Accented leather seating is a must for all those who like their creature comforts. You will enjoy the contempory Mazda 6 interior that has splashes of tasteful chrome trim, simple and sophisticated instrumentation, and ergonomically brilliant controls.
You are by no means short changed under the bonnet. Even the base model Limited has the responsive and smooth 2.5 litre four cylinder motor that is mated to either a quick-shifting six speed manual or a slick-changing five speed automatic transmission. With 125 kW on tap, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of eight seconds for the manual, you will be keeping company with some of Australia's swifter units. For those of you who care for a fuel consumption figure of under 6 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres, the diesel wagon or diesel hatchback might be your preferred choice. Both are frugal and refined, and with 360 Nm of torque available, the six speed manual uses the diesel engine's pulling power to great effect. All the models are driven through the front wheels except for the MPS AWD versions. These are the real movers and shakers in the Mazda 6 pack. If you wish, the Mazda 6 MPS and Mazda 6 MPS Luxury cars will provide you with power to burn. The 190 kW machines can hit 100 km/h from a standstill in just over six seconds flat. This is big Aussie-V8 territory.
A Mazda 6 is stylish, looks good and is very refined. With a great ride and excellent handling, the new Mazda 6 sits in A4, 3 series and C-Class territory. With a reasonable price tag, the Mazda 6 delivers a lot of bang for the buck or - as Mazda is known for saying - a lot of Zoom, Zoom!
